Welcome back to another episode of Mommy on a Mission podcast, the podcast that empowers women to reach their impossible goals, one dream at a time. I'm your host, mariana, and good morning. I'm so glad you're here with me this Saturday. You know I have been on this wonderful journey these past few weeks, ever since I started going back to church. It's been just a wonderful thing, and, you know, god's been really speaking to me a lot lately. I don't know, I don't know, I don't know what it is, but I'm happy. The things that God has really been pouring into me has really been setting me back on fire and has really gotten me to think about a lot of things, things that I haven't thought about in quite some time, and so I'm glad to be sharing this information with you, because I think a lot of us have these same things that we're thinking about. We just don't talk about it as often, and so I want to share something that's been placed on my heart yet again, and that's about our pain. Does God really use our pain, like, is there a purpose for our pain? And so that's what we're going to dive deep into today, and I think diving into this is going to be a powerful and transformative topic about turning pain into purpose, because I believe that, as a woman of faith, that God can work all things together for the good of those who believe in him, because it tells us that in Romans 8, 28. So today, this morning, grab your cafecito and if you have a Bible, sure grab your Bible too, and let's explore how we can find purpose in our pain and transform our struggles into a source of strength and peace. Into a source of strength and peace.

Speaker 1:

So let's begin by understanding what pain is and the different forms it can take. We all know that pain is inevitable, right? It's part of our life, whether it be physical, whether it be emotional or spiritual. It can stem from various sources. It can be from like loss, betrayal, disappointment or even personal failures. But why do we experience pain? It's a question we all grapple with at some point. Pain can impact our mental, emotional and spiritual well-being, challenging us to our core. Yet it's in these moments of vulnerability that we often find our greatest opportunities for growth. So how can we find purpose in our pain? Well, let's consider the idea that God can use our pain for a greater purpose. In 2 Corinthians 1.4, we learn that God comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort others in theirs. So think about that for a moment. Our experiences, no matter how painful, can become a source of comfort and strength for others. A source of comfort and strength for others.

Speaker 1:

I remember reading and this is in the New Testament. So if you've never read the Bible, the Bible is broken into the New Testament and the Old Testament. Right, so we're taking it back. The New Testament is before Jesus and it's during the time of like Abraham and whatnot, and it's when before, they want it to be fruitful and multiply. So they had concubines, and so in this particular story, it reminds me of Hagar.

Speaker 1:

Now, hagar was a concubine and and she was selected to have a child because her owner could not have a child. So she was given so that she could bear a child, and her owner became angry and jealous of her, so she was mistreated and she was asked to leave, and so she was abandoned. But despite her being abandoned and facing hardship, god did not forgive her. I mean, forget her, sorry. Hagar was met by God in her distress and God provided for her and her son, ishmael, and God promised her that he would make a great nation of her descendants great nation of her descendants. Her story is a testament of how God can turn our most difficult moments into a beacon of hope for the future.

Speaker 1:

Now let's talk about practical steps for finding purpose in our own pain. Let's talk about practical steps for finding purpose in our own pain. First of all, we need to surrender our pain and brokenness to God, allowing him to work in and through us. This may involve prayer, seeking counsel and being open to healing and restoration. Next, we can use our experiences to minister to others who are facing similar struggles, because sharing our stories and offering support can be incredibly empowering, both for ourselves and for those we help. I like to say that our story is not our story, but rather his story to tell.

Speaker 1:

I can recall being ashamed to share my story, and the enemy knew it. He would have me believe that no one would ever hire me, that no one would ever love me, that no one would ever respect me or accept me. All of those were lies. All of them. I endured abuse from not only the hands of my ex-husband, but from the hands of my father, former boyfriends. I was verbally, mentally and emotionally abused. I lived with guilt and embarrassment for so long, allowing myself to believe that God did not love me, that he was never going to forgive me and that I deserved what I was living.

Speaker 1:

Amiga, let me tell you, in those times of darkness, god, with all of his grace and mercy, was shining his light and slowly pouring his truth into me, and over time, I came to realize that God had a plan for me and everything that I had endured in my life was not going to go to waste. He is using each struggle of my life to share with someone at the right time. At the right time, amiga, he is allowing me to speak to you right now to let you know that the pain you are feeling right now is not in vain. Your pain has a purpose. Your pain will provide hope and comfort to someone else, just as I hope it is providing hope and comfort to you. So what does this all mean, and what does this have to do with being a mommy on a mission? The answer is everything, everything.

Speaker 1:

Turning pain into purpose is like harnessing that energy of a storm to power your journey. As an empowered mommy, you take those trials and tribulations you faced and use them as fuel to propel you forward, because each setback becomes a stepping stone. Each tier is a testament to your resilience. When you turn your pain into purpose, you redefine your narrative. Instead of being held back by your struggles, you rise above them, showing your strength and determination. This transformation not only empowers you, but also inspires those around you and if you have children, especially your children, if you have nieces, your nieces, your nephews, your friend, your sister, to see the adversity can be a catalyst for greatness. Being an empowered mommy on a mission means you're not just surviving, you are thriving. You're setting goals, smashing them and showing the world that nothing can hold you back. Your pain becomes your power, your purpose becomes your passion and your mission becomes the plan that God had for you.

Speaker 1:

So it's important to acknowledge that turning pain into purpose is not always easy or quick. It's a process that requires trust in God's plan and timing. Remember James 1, 2 through 4 says, which encourages us to consider it pure joy when we face trials, because they produce perseverance and maturity in our faith. Embrace this process and be patient with yourself. Trust that God is working behind the scenes, even when it feels like nothing is happening. Amiga, have grace, have mercy with yourself, love yourself, be patient with yourself. It's incredible how sometimes we can have grace and mercy and patience with other people and yet we can't do that for ourselves. Remember be grateful for the things that you do have. Be grateful for the things that you do have. Be grateful for those small victories. Be grateful for what you have accomplished. Be grateful that you still have breath in your lungs and that you are still here for another day to share. Be grateful and remember that all things work for good, right?

Speaker 1:

I love this verse and I'll always repeat it because it's one of my favorite verses. I love this verse and I'll always repeat it because it's one of my favorite verses and it's I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future, and that's from Jeremiah 29, 11. I just love that because it's so true. Regardless of what you're going through, no matter what pain you're going through, god has a plan for it. It is not in vain. So, amiga, as we wrap up today's episode, I wanna leave you with a challenge Seek out the purpose in your pain and trust in God's faithfulness. Allow your struggles to become a source of strength and empowerment, not only for yourself, but for those around you. Let me pray with you, dear Heavenly Father. We just come before you, lord Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1:

I lift my sister up to you, father God, asking you, father God, that whatever she is going through today, father God, whatever she is going through, father, that is hard, that is just, you know, overcoming her. That is overwhelming her. Father God, whatever trials and tribulations she is facing, father God, I pray Father God for a breakthrough. Trials and tribulations she is facing, father God, I pray Father God for a breakthrough. I pray, father God, that you will use this as a testimony for her. Father God, that you will just use this, father God, that you will change her. Father God, use it as a transformation, father God, use this Father God as a purpose, father God. Father God, use this so that she can share it with somebody else who's going to benefit from it, father God, and may it bring her closer to you.

Speaker 1:

Father, I don't know what hurt, what pain, what circumstances has her down right now, father God, but I lift her up to you, father God, asking you to give her the strength that she needs, the peace of mind that she's looking for, father God, the comfort that she is seeking, father God, the love that she is wanting, father God, the approval, father God, to be seen. Father God to be seen. Father God to be acknowledged. Father God, these things, father God, help her with Father God. Love on her, jesus, and use her pain, father God and turn it into something wonderful, father, and it's in Jesus' name that we pray.
