MAMI on a Mission Podcast - Mujeres Alcanzando Metas Imposibles
“From Rest to Revival: Celebrating 3 Years of MAMI on a Mission!”
Feeling stuck in a cycle of pouring from an empty cup? Ready to reclaim your purpose and passion? This episode marks a powerful return after a restorative July break, where I share the profound shifts happening in both my personal journey and professional mission.
Fresh from completing my advanced life coach certification, I'm bringing enhanced tools and strategies to help multifaceted women create the lives they truly desire. I share the milestone of celebrating 17 years of marriage—a true testament to healing and transformation after surviving two previous marriages, including one marked by severe abuse. At age 30, I found myself rebuilding my entire life, rediscovering who I was beyond the roles of mother and provider. That journey of reinvention became the foundation for what MAMI on a Mission represents today.
As both the podcast and business celebrate their third anniversary, I reveal how a simple workout hashtag evolved into MAMI: Mujeres Alcanzando Metas Imposibles (Women Achieving Impossible Goals). The Bible study communities, weekly Zoom gatherings, and the new EmpowerHer Purpose program are creating spaces for women to heal, grow, and transform from the inside out. This 12-week coaching experience is designed specifically for women ready to stop living on autopilot and start walking confidently in their purpose.
The transformation we seek isn't always visible on the outside—the deepest healing happens within. When others notice something different about you but can't quite identify what's changed, that's when you know true transformation is happening. Ready to experience this shift? Grab a copy of my bestselling book, join our supportive community, or schedule an interview to see if the Empower Her Purpose program is your next step toward living a purposeful, passionate life aligned with your deepest values.

Hello, hello, and welcome back to Mommy on a Mission podcast. Mujeres, I have missed you. Yes, yes, yes, I know that I had some episodes. Oops, I can't even talk now. Episodes drop in July. However, those were recorded back in June. I actually took some time off in July to rest because this girl needed it Like seriously. But girl, can we talk for a second? Listen, this busy mama here is feeling some type of way because summer is almost over, okay. Okay, yes, I'm kind of sort of ready for the kids to go back to school. But if I'm being honest, this summer was my break from being the family, uber driver, chef and alarm clock all in one, like I know a lot of y'all feel me on that one right, because I know that probably y'all were doing the same exact thing. Y'all were doing the same exact thing. So if y'all are multifaceted women just like me, then I know for sure y'all were like busy all the time during the school season and while they were eating me out of house and home, I have to say I really did enjoy not having to fight with them to get out of bed before 7am. Can I get an amen? But now that I've had my little pause, let me just say I didn't spend it just, you know, chilling and doing nothing. Okay, although, yes, I did have a lot of time to catch up on some true crime stories, because if you know me then you know that I like me a little bit of true crime stories. I don't know it kind of like because my husband is law enforcement, so it kind of helps me connect with him a little bit more and kind of just see what kind of work he does. So, yeah, and then it also prompts conversations for us, right.
Speaker 1:But I've enjoyed this time and this mommy here, this mommy on a mission, may have rested from carpooling, but I also leveled up and I officially became a certified advanced life coach. Now I was already a certified. I was already certified in biblical coaching, in career coaching, but this new certification, it's adding sharpened tools to my toolbox. Okay, and what does that mean? It means that I can serve you and I can serve other women and even coaches with even more clarity, strategy and support, because when you grow, I grow, and I do believe that iron sharpens iron. So it's like one of those things that I always say is that I'm not successful unless you are successful, and that's what I want to see. I want to see you be successful, I want to see you fix your crown, I want to see you pursue the things that you want to pursue, that you've been wanting to pursue and just didn't know exactly how to start. You know where to go or anything like that, right. And so this was something that I had, you know, put to the side for a little bit, because I did become a biblical life coach what last fall? While at the same time I was going through the Mortar Entrepreneurship Academy. So every year, I do try to do things for myself in order to be able to improve the craft that I have, but also because I want to be able to share it with you, especially if you are going to want to come to me for coaching, then I want to make sure that you're getting the best coaching you can get in order for you to be able to accomplish all that you're wanting to accomplish. So, with that being said, july always, you know, has been a special month for me, and this year my hubby and I got to celebrate 17 years of marriage, and if you know anything about my story, then you know that that's nothing short of a God sized miracle, you know. But that's not all. Mommy on a mission turned three years old. So yes, hubby and I celebrate 17 years of marriage. Just to give you a little bit of insight on that.
Speaker 1:So I am twice divorced. The first time I got married, I was 17,. Divorced by 22 with a baby. Then I met my second husband at 23, got pregnant, had a baby, we got married, and that marriage was a marriage that consisted of drug abuse. It consisted of physical abuse, emotional abuse and all of the abuse incorporated, and so it was a very, very hard time in my life. I was also you know, just I was a stay at home mom. I was high school graduate, but I didn't have a career, and along the way, so many of you might, you know, be able to resonate with this, but you know, along the way I just kind of like lost myself, like that confidence that I had, that strong self-esteem, my self-worth, I mean, all of it was shot right. And so, after eight years of this marriage, I finally left, had the courage to open up and leave this marriage, and so I was two marriages down.
Speaker 1:So I was divorced twice and I realized that at the age of 30, that I needed to start my life over, and that consisted of me rediscovering who I was, what were my passions, what were the things that I desire to do. I went back to school and I got my life together, and then, along the way, my Prince Charming came into my life, and that was a completely God sent thing, and so that's why I say that it's been a true blessing. Now, I'm not going to say that our marriage has been perfect, because there's no marriage that's perfect. However, I will say that everything that I had ever dreamt of in a marriage is what I have, and I couldn't have asked for a better partner, for a better companion, for a better best friend than the husband that I have. And again, celebrating 17 years of marriage was and is an amazing thing.
Speaker 1:So what did we do? We ended up going to this place out near Austin, and we were able to just kind of like relax, get away from everything. It's like we call it glamping, because it wasn't camping, because we had a little. It was almost like one of those tiny homes, but it was a log cabin and it was by the lake, and we just got to be just able to be with each other, just chill, not having to worry about where we have to go or anything. I mean like we could just enjoy each other's company and the quietness. And so I had a moment where I could just sit there with my Bible and look at the hills because it was in the hill country. I could look at the hills and just like really take in everything that God has just blessed me with, and so it was an amazing time.
Speaker 1:But, yes, and so now, before the kids go back to school, all of my children so I have five children we're going to go back this time with them. So I've got my 32 year old son, his wife and stepdaughter, my daughter and my grandbaby, my other son who's 26, plus my 17,. I mean my 16 year old daughter and my 12 year old son, along with the hubby. We're all going to go on a family glamping trip again and, just you know, really enjoy it. And I will say this this is the very first time that we're all going on a little mini staycation with them, and so I'm really, really looking forward to that. Just you know, because kids, when they're older, it's completely different compared to when they're smaller, because they take care of themselves and not just that, but the conversations are even different, and so I'm really really looking forward to spending time with all of my children before the hustle and bustle begins again.
Speaker 1:Like I said, you know, mommy on a Mission does turn three years old, and so I want to say now, mind you, mommy on a Mission is something that has been a journey, my journey, my life journey, right and about, I want to say by like 2011,. It's, you know, god whispered in my ear that this was going to be something more than just my hashtag of Mommy on a Mission, because I was at that time training for half marathons and I would post hashtag mommy on a mission. But then one day, as I was pumping gas, it just came to me and mommy, the acronym for M-A-M-I stands for Mujeres Alcanzando Metas Imposibles, and I knew right then and there that I was meant to coach women. I have been coaching for 16 years now, but I started off as a career coach, which in turn, led to live coaching, and so it's pretty much over the years, it's pivoted right, but until where? I decided because I've been working in the nonprofit industry now for for a little over 17 years now, and I will just say that God spoke it into my heart you know that I was going to be doing this as my business street, and so three years ago, after I was just like facing some things in my life, that I decided that my husband actually was the one that said you know what? You are going to start your own business. Do you believe in yourself? And I was like and I'm going to be honest with you, I was a little bit of afraid. But he says, can you do this? And I was like, yeah, now that I felt very confident about Right. And so three years ago I started to pour into creating this business street of mine.
Speaker 1:Now, before that it wasn't called a business street, it was more of a business idea of me, knowing that I wanted to help women. And so what I wanted to do was really have something that you all could have a safe space where you can build community, where you could share the things or your struggles but at the same time, you know, help each other out. Like build this community where you could speak, be transparent, be honest, be authentic, without any judgment at all, and just know that you are not alone. And so over the last three years, mommy on a Mission has really evolved into what is now the Mommy on a Mission LLC, evolved into what is now the Mommy on a Mission LLC, and because of that came out my book Mommy on a Mission A Guide Towards Healing, self-discovery and Walking in Confidence. That has now turned two years old since it launched and became a number one Amazon bestselling book number one Amazon bestselling book and it just created this movement of really coming to be a community. Let me just say that it's just a community now, not just it is, it's a community for you. It's a community for you to meet other women just like you that are striving for something similar to yourself.
Speaker 1:And, with that being said, I've also have a Facebook group called Amiga Ready to Read your Bible. I'm not, I'm sorry. That is the Bible study group that came out of Purpose Over Cafecito, right, because anytime you sit down with someone and you're drinking a cup of coffee, you can have a really good conversation and from that you learn a lot of things, not only about the other person but about yourself, and you start talking about your hopes and your dreams and it's almost like I don't know, like you're reigniting that fire, right. And so the purpose of our cafecito is on Facebook. So if that's something that you're interested in, then you can come join us on there.
Speaker 1:And on Wednesday night we also have the I mean, I ready to read your Bible in which we have a zoom Bible study. We meet every Wednesday at seven 30 and it's becoming something so powerful. Like there's six of us right now in the group and we're reading the Bible from the Bible recap and we're just studying God's word and we're just like really growing and it's, it's just been so amazing. It's just been so amazing. So if you want to experience that, then you want to come join us in Purpose Over Cabecito and the Amiga Ready to Read your Bible Bible Study Group. Because, let me tell y'all, it's amazing. Them women are amazing and it's not boring, because we have fun when we're reading the Bible. We get to joke and we get to pray for each other and sometimes, depending on what we're reading, it can be very deep, and then other times it can also be serious, you know. So we're crying, we're praying, we're laughing, all of the things, and so I think it's just very, very fun that we have that. So I really do invite you to participate in either one of those. But because, mommy on a Mission A Guide Towards Healing and Self-Discovery, walking in Confidence, is celebrating its two-year anniversary Right now, I am promoting the book again and if you purchase it, then you get to get a signed copy of the book. So if that's something that you're interested in, then please get yourself a copy of the book. I'll have all of these links in the show notes so that you can go to it. All right, so now listen.
Speaker 1:With all of this going on, the empower her purpose program is the program that got picked up by Adria Women's House or Health Center, actually, and that is the group coaching that I am going to be teaching come this August. And, to celebrate this milestone, I've officially opened enrollment for Empower Her Purpose program, and this is a 12 week group coaching experience. It's for the mujer who is done pouring from an empty cup and ready to reignite her faith, heal emotionally and step into her purpose with confidence. What does it come with? It comes with a digital workbook. We have live Zoom sessions and you can choose from a Friday night or a Saturday morning. It's a safe community of like-minded women who are walking through it too, and it's faith-filled, real and transformational.
Speaker 1:So I launched this out and let me just tell you the women that participated in this program when we were testing it out, let me just say they were like wow, I was not expecting this type of transformation, because when we talk about transformation, more than likely we're talking about that transformation that people can see physically, right, like, let's just say, weight loss, right, people can see that, right, you know they can see when you're changing, your body's transforming and stuff. But when it comes to healing in the inside, it's not as, how can I put it? It's not like when you're losing weight, because the inside transformation starts to change and although your outside appearance may still look the same, but there's something about you that has changed and they can't quite put their finger on it. And that's because you're starting to change. And so, because of that experience, that's why I'm saying that the Adriel Women's Health Center loved what it was doing to the women, that they decided that they want me to teach my curriculum to their clients. So if you're still unsure about it, let's talk, schedule an interview with me and let's talk about it. And if you sign up before August 9th, you'll get 50% 15% off, and you're also going to get a special gift. So what are you waiting for? Are you ready to stop pouring from an empty cup and start living on purpose? And if that's, you come on, you know, let's schedule that interview and let's see if this is your season. So I mean yes. So a lot of things, like I said, there's just so much, I'm just so excited about all of it that it might like I'm probably getting all tongue twisted and everything, but it has just been a phenomenal month of just enjoying the goodness of God.
Speaker 1:And, last but not least, I don't know if you've listened to the new she's Bold podcast series, but it was in July and let me tell y'all. But it was in July and let me tell y'all, these stories will bless you and break you wide open in the best way. I mean, it's almost like cause. You know, like I just said, I am passionate about true crime stories. Well, in listening to these women, there was a little bit of all of that, right, there was everything from raising boys to growing up in foster care, to seeking freedom from abuse, to healing and then from living a life of crime. Yeah, and when I'm talking about living a life of crime, y'all, y'all don't want to miss that episode at all, because the story that this woman shared, I mean, it just blew me off my feet and I was just like wow, wow, wow, wow. And these women shared raw, redemptive testimonies that remind us that God can use any, any story for his glory.
Speaker 1:So if you missed those episodes. Go back, check them out and, trust me, you'll be glad you did. All right, amiga. So this was supposed to be my resting season, but really it was a reviving season, a time for me to grow deeper in my calling, celebrate what God has done for me and prepare for what's next. So, if this episode blessed you, do me a favor. Will you share it with your girls, leave a review and subscribe to the Mommy on a Mission podcast so you never miss a moment?
Speaker 1:And I just want to say, amiga, thank you so much for joining me today. I was just, you know, I wanted to find a way to just share with you all that that's been going on, and I'm just glad that you are here right now listening to all of the things that are happening, and I want to encourage you to please, please, please. You know if, if coaching is, you know I am a big time advocate for therapy, but to me, therapy is so that you can have that release of what's. You know what you've been holding on to. You know that the struggles and all of the things that you've been holding on to, and coaching is like okay, I'm ready to move forward, I'm ready to take action and I'm ready to take control of my life, and what better way than to do that with God in the forefront? So again, join me for the Empower Her Purpose Program cohort that starts in August. Again, you have a choice of morning or evening, and again, everything is going to be in the show notes. So, once again, thank you for being on this journey with me. I'm so proud of you for showing up. And until next time, walk boldly, live purposefully and stay on mission. We'll talk soon.
Speaker 1:Thank you for tuning in to the Mommy on a Mission podcast. If you found today's episode inspiring, don't forget to subscribe, leave a review and share it with your amigas.
